What Are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are found naturally occurring in cannabis sativa and they function with our endocannabinoid system. Of over 480 different compounds present in the plant, only around 66 are termed cannabinoids. The most well known among these compounds is the delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), which is the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.
Through research, we’ve found the cannabis plant produces between 80 and 100 cannabinoids, plus about 300 non-cannabinoid chemicals. The two most popular cannabinoids are THC and CBD.
